The Gourmed Final Conference was held during the 22nd World
Congress of Food Science and Technology “The future of food is
now: Development, Functionality & Sustainability” (IUFoST
2024). The Final Conference took place on 9th of September and
throughout the duration of IUFoST 2024 a dedicated booth was
set up to showcase the project’s outputs. IUFoST 2024 brought
together over 1.200 participants from 74 countries, featuring
professionals, researchers, policymakers, and industry leaders
from really all over the world. The scientific program was
both rich and diverse, with about 1,500 abstracts submitted
and 50 scientific sessions held in eight parallel rooms. The
program featured 172 speakers, including congress workshops,
59 oral presentations sessions, and 600 poster presentations.
The workshop session titled: “Achieving Equitable Pricing and
Profits in the Mediterranean Food Supply Chain: Practical
Results and Innovative Solutions” gave the opportunity to the
participants to Join a dynamic session featuring cutting-edge
research and innovative solutions to address the real-world
challenges faced by farmers and other stakeholders in the
supply chain. The distinguished keynote speakers provided
insights on promoting fairness, assessing the impact of fair
business models, leveraging food traceability and
digitalization and exploring ecological and social
sustainability.
Additionally, the participants had the opportunity to delve
into practical real-world results and innovative solutions
that can drive equitable pricing and profits in the
Mediterranean food supply chain and to learn about the largest
pan-European consumer survey on food product choices. At the
end of the workshop a wrap up with a panel discussion and Q&A
session gave attendees the chance to engage with experts and
explore practical applications and future directions.
